Zelda 3DS - Oh. Yeah. Maybe I should post something.

I FORGOT AGAIN.

Wait, I take that back. I didn't forget. I procrastinated. There is a difference.

I thought of my blog several times over the month and CONSTANTLY told myself to go and post something -- but I kept telling myself I'd do it some other time. Oh, well, it's not like there's anything to post about anyway. It's not like anything important is going on, and I didn't play much--

...What? A Link to the Past? What are you talking about? I haven't played A Link to the--

Oh.

Oh, yeah.

So, there's that thing called Zelda 3DS that I kind of forgot about... I mean, uh, I didn't forget about it, but I didn't really feel like posting about it... XD

Ugh. See, here's the thing. Zelda 3DS -- or A Link to the Past 2, as the community calls it (since apparently it's Triforce of the Gods 2 in Japan? Seriously, Nintendo?) -- is kind of a bit of a big deal. Think about what I would have done a year ago. After all, 2012 sucked for Zelda fans, as I emphasized in my yearly closing post in December, heh. I would have FREAKED. OUT. And then ranted all over the blog about how amazing this was going to be.

Strangely, though, this year, when Zelda 3DS was announced... I didn't feel that.

It was the strangest thing. First off, it looked like a fan project. ...Yes, I know. That's exactly what I said about The Wind Waker HD. Maybe I'm going to think all Zelda games from this point on look like fan projects; I don't really know, since I've only had the whole "find out day of the announcement" thing with Skyward Sword, and I'd been counting down the days for E3 to show us more about that. Well, and OoT 3D, I guess... which, interestingly enough, I suppose I didn't believe THAT was a real game at first, either, thinking it was only a tech demo...

Anyway, it looked like a fan project. Fans have tried to recreate 2D Zelda games into 3D before, although I haven't heard of any super successful ones. Or it looked like a fake. Either way, I didn't believe it.

When I found out, I was still at school. My school is evil and decided to block virtually everything gaming related, including almost every Zelda fansite in existence, so I am completely out of contact there. I knew there was going to be a Nintendo Direct that evening; the day before, there had been rumors about Majora's Mask 3D being announced then. But, of course, I didn't believe the MM rumors and completely forgot about it.

So, at lunch, my friend sent me a text message saying "SIERRA! (Well, real name, whatever.) HAVE YOU SEEN THIS? 3DS sequel to A Link to the Past!"

And, of course, I scoffed and sent her a suspicious message back, saying, "Are you sure?" I was trying to be as kind as possible because she had CLEARLY fallen for some stupid rumor or fake, but I didn't want to seem condescending or dismissive in case she had some kind of real lead here. After that, she said, "Well, yeah, the The Legend of Zelda group on Facebook posted it..." Since I don't know anything about Facebook, I wasn't sure how official this Zelda Facebook group was, although I did feel a bit interested by this fact, especially knowing about the Nintendo Direct. But maybe she had misunderstood the announcement? And then she tells me that NINTENDO ALSO posted it on THEIR Facebook page... And then she shows me a bunch of screenshots that she had saved...

And, finally, she tells me I can use her phone to look at the websites. XD

So I sought her out (since she doesn't sit with me) and the very first thing I did... was go to Zelda Dungeon.

Because for some reason, I trust Zelda Dungeon more than Nintendo's official The Legend of Zelda Facebook Page. You know.

And, sure enough, there it was, right on the front page.

So, yes, the surprise was ruined for me yet again, just like in TWW. Except for TWW, at least it was a fantastically wonderfully unexpected surprise when I got home, where as this was a surprisingly unusually unexpected discovery at school. Apparently setting makes all the diffence. XD I didn't want to freak out there, so I waited until I got home.

...But the excitement never really came.

Please help me. I don't know what's happened to the Zelda fangirl that used to run this blog. She's missing! And she's been replaced by someone who keeps judging games based on appearances again!

...Yeah. You heard that right. So, uh, I don't particularly like the graphics.

Now, uh, I'm sort of happy. I'm just not, like... overwhelmingly excited, like for SS and ST. I even felt more eager for WW HD than this. I don't know. Something about it just... puts me off.

Oh, well, maybe it has something to do with the fact that I never liked A Link to the Past in the first place? (Except for that one post forever ago. But that doesn't count. -.-)

Yeah. Now, believe me when I say I was among all of the others that were cheering for a sequel instead of a remake, but keep in mind that when they said sequel, I was actually imagining something 3D. "But, Sierra," you say, "A Link to the Past 2 IS 3D!"

First off, STOP CALLING IT THAT. THE BEAUTIFUL GAME KNOWN AS LINK'S AWAKENING IS AN A LINK TO THE PAST SEQUEL AND IT IS PROBABLY WAY COOLER THAN THIS NEWBIE GAME JUST BECAUSE I SAID SO. And, uh, when I said 3D, I meant, like, Ocarina of Time 3D.

Geez, Sierra. When will you ever learn that you can't trust tech demos on what the graphics of the next game are going to be? Even if the tech demo was made into a full game? D:

(Which probably means that Zelda Wii U will look nothing like the demo, either. Darn. I love those graphics.)

Yeah, so, I was among those fooled into thinking that Zelda 3DS would look like OoT 3D. Instead we get a remake of a game that never really was a favorite of mine to begin with.

Like with TWW HD, though, DON'T GET ME WRONG. I probably will love this game to DEATH. And maybe I'm just waiting for the excitement to kick in. Maybe it'll come as we learn more about this game. But for now, I'm not impressed by a couple of videos and some cool turn-into-a-2D-painting thingy.

Oh, yeah, I didn't mention that yet. You can turn into a drawing or something. Kind of interesting. I can imagine some cool stuff with that. XD

Wow, no pictures for this post. I'm sorry. I'm kind of in a hurry, in case you didn't notice. It's becoming 11 PM here on the last day of the month.

PROCRASTINATION FOR THE WIN WOOOOOOOOOO

But, yeah. It's probably past midnight in most of you guys' time zones. I wonder if Blogger adjusts to time zones? I don't think it does, but...

...I'm off-topic.

Yeah. So I'm not exactly hyped for Zelda 3DS yet, but any Zelda-related announcement is a cause for celebration. I was talking about it all day the following few days.

I still can't believe I left a post announcing a BRAND NEW ZELDA GAME until now. Oh, how the mighty have fallen... XD

Unnecessary, insincere, and probably false promise: Hey, maybe I'll get on sometime this weekend and write a full post about my thoughts on Zelda 3DS! If I remember. After all, I didn't get to go into much detail here. I want to tear apart every little aspect of the game, including music, more on graphics, and what I think about it being a sequel to the SNES classic. Oh, and I want to complain about Link's voice. Don't let me forget that. That will be first on my list. Objective one: complain about Link's voice.

Alright! Goodnight, everyone! Have a nice... week? The day's almost over, so it probably won't do you any good to say day. :P (...Assuming you read this as soon as I post it, haha. Which is a rather awful assumption.)

Random trivia fact: This is the first post on my blog with the label "A Link to the Past" since March 30th, 2010. See. I told you I don't really care much for that game.

LttP Update... update? Oh, and WW Ghost Ship.

I updated my update below. Um, that sounds weird. Anyway, uh... I didn't do any Zelda stuff last night AT ALL. I only got ten minutes of trying to Brawl over Wi-Fi, but I kept getting disconnected. But earlier this week I did play Wind Waker for just a little, and I got four Triforce charts and the Ghost Ship Chart. Ugh, our stupid game disk is SO old, and our GameCube is too (yeah, I played it on the GC instead of Wii 'cuz I felt like it) so it kept bringing up that message saying: "The game disk could not be read. Please refer to the Nintendo Game Cube manual for instructions." All you have to do it open the thing up and close it again, but it was annoying. And Beedle is a curse - it happened EVERY time I left or went inside his shop. Same as the place you get the Ghost Ship Chart - every time I went into a new pot, I had to open and close the Game Cube. O.o

I also got into the Ghost Ship, but my game turned off so it didn't save that. -.- Btw, on the wall above the treasure chest where the Triforce chart is, there's this creepy green picture. From far away it looks like an old man, but the closer you get to it, it looks like a younger man. If you stand far away and slowly zoom in on it with the telescope, you can see the transformation. o.O

You know what was funny? I have my entire sea chart completed except for THREE ISLANDS in the north-eastern corner. Guess what? Out of all those islands, the ghost ship just HAD to appear at one of those three during a full moon. So I talked to the fish before going into the ghost ship there to get one more island mapped out, and the fish tells me, "Don't come here when the moon is full, unless you like extreme terror! That's when IT appears!" And... the Ghost Ship was right behind him... what an idiot. O.o

LttP Update - O. M. G.

I BEAT GANON!

...That was unexpected, huh?

...Why do I always do that?

...I mean, I always put a starting sentence, and then a paragraph, and then continue on with the rest of the post...

Yeah...

So...

Okay! So, yeah, I like, defeated Ganon. Twice. Yeah, only twice. I was 1) too lazy to do it more times 2) too short on money to buy potions for the battle 3) HATE the pits of death around the boss room and 4) Ganon IS ANNOYING. But, hey, I got the Triforce twice. Yipee!

This is probably totally random to most of you but WHAT THE HECK?!?! I just wrote a big long entry here on my DSi and NONE OF IT SAVED! Except that first part, because I wrote that on my computer earler today. UGH! I had been writing for HALF AN HOUR! I was already mad because my DSi's memory wouldn't let me type anymore, but now THIS?!

...Weeelll...

I guess you'll just have to wait until I edit this tomorrow, because I'm SO not rewriting that tonight. Just wait for the edit, I guess - it will come soon enough! ;)

EDIT: Guess what? It came!

So... I'll try to write from memory what I wrote last time...

Ganon was fun, but HARD. Should I describe the EPIC fight? I'll start from when I got to the top of Ganon's Tower (at least I THINK it was the top... I mean, I don't think I was climbing DOWN...). And for those of you who haven't done this, I'll go into enough detail that most people (even some non-Zelda fans... possibly...) can understand!

I go into the boss room of Ganon's Tower, and guess who I find in there? AGAHNIM! He's the boss I fought in Hyrule Castle earlier. As if he wasn't bad enough ONCE. -.- And you know what's even more GREAT? He's got friends! He makes clones of himself, so now you have to defend against his attacks AND his clones! Worse: I ONLY HAD TWO HEARTS AND A HALF - and no potions or faeries to heal me. I was sure I was doomed.

Then a miracle happened: I somehow defeated him with HALF A HEART LEFT! O:

As he is defeated, he collapses to the ground and out of him comes, to my astonishment, the one and only GANON! He turns into a bat... and I think he flew away. My little ducky buddy comes and he flies me away to the Pyramid of Power, the main area of the Dark World. Now there's an ENORMOUS hole in the top of it. Despite the fact that I'm confused and somewhat stunned that I was suddenly faced with Ganon/batman and whisked out of the tower without warning and half a heart, I had no doubt that if I fell down there I would begin the boss battle... and with half a heart, seal my doom.

So I face the newly formed hole, take a deep breath... and warp to the Light World with the Magic Mirror to get the heck out of there. xD Yeah, there's no way I'm risking it. Even if I managed to miraculously defeat Agahinim again, I wasn't so sure Ganon would be as easy. I needed to prepare.

I use my Flute and duck to fly to the Potion Shop. Using the "free sample" the assistant gives me, I filled up my hearts all the way (phew, don't have to worry about dying every second anymore) and bought two blue potions. Why only two if I have four bottles? Well, one bottle still has some Green Potion in it, and I'm out of rupees. O.o Instead, I replaced the missing potion with a fairy.

Okay. Now I'm ready.

I hurry to Hyrule Castle and go through the gate, which warps me to the Dark World. I climb up the Pyramid, to the very top. This time, I jump into the hole.

I land in a tiled room with a giant Triforce-design in the center. And, of course, Ganon's there. He says some boring speech that basically says I'm awesomer than he thought I was. :P He confidently explains that he's still going to win. AS IF! The battle begins. With my full health, I decided that I could go to the back of the room and start shooting sword-beams at him. Aaannd... nothing happened. They bounced off him! Surprised, I then take out the Magic Boomerang. Same result. Fire Rod does the same. Then, I'm SURE the Silver Arrows will work - aren't they his weakness? But NO! They have the same effect.

So what DO I do if none of my weapons work?

I walk right over to him and pound B like crazy, slashing my sword as much as quickly as I could. Luckily, THAT works. Apparently you have to be right next to him to do any damage. O.o He throws his trident thing (which looks suspiciously like the one on the entrance to the fourth dungeon) at me, which spins around and comes back to him like a boomerang, while he moves around the room, sometimes at really fast speeds so I have to follow him to hurt him.

Eventually, he changes tatics. He spins his trident but doesn't throw it. Instead, fireballs form around him in a circle. Then they shoot out, covering more than half the room. They retract back, and turn into firey bats that fly out at me. The fireballs aren't hard... but the bats are so fast, they're nearly IMPOSSIBLE to avoid.

He again tries something different. A singular fire-bat forms and starts flying in a circle, leaving a trail of fire behind. Then he jumps up and lands with a loud "THUMP" that makes the tiles around the edge of the room fall, making large pits. After all four sides of the room's tiles have fallen, he informs me that he's using his attack of "darkness" or something. Um, okay. The lights suddenly go out, and Ganon disappears while a random fire bat shoots at me from seemingly no where. I light the two torches again with my Fire Rod, and Ganon reappears. I whack him with my sword... and he turns blue. Uh... so I shot him with a Silver Arrow, he gets hurt, and then the lights go out again. I did this about four times... and then guess what? His bat hits me... and I FELL.

I don't know what I was expecting when I fell into the holes surrounding the room. I probably thought I'd lose a heart and appear up on the platform again. But nooo, it has to be HARDER than that. I land in a strange room. At the bottom of a room is a door, leading into ANOTHER room, and ANOTHER door that I go out of. Guess where I am? OUTSIDE OF THE PYRAMID. This means... what?

I HAVE TO DO GANON ALL OVER AGAIN.

Worse of all, I already used up a potion in battle! And if you recall... I'm still out of money. I was forced to play the Treasure Chest game and the digging game to get some cash.

Finally, I do it again, and I RAN OUT OF MAGIC. I was forced to throw myself off the side to restart the fight and get magic to light the torches.

Ugh... I'm out of time again. I'll explain what happens after I beat the boss tomorrow. Isn't that great? ;)

EDIT: Ookay!

After many, many, MANY times where I fell (it was nearing 20) I finally shot that last Silver Arrow, AND GANON BLEW UP! xD

A bridge formed across the put of death to the North of the room. I crossed it, and inside I found three glowing triangle - THE TRIFORCE! Omgness! I got them all! Usually I only get Courage but this time I got ALL THREE... WOOT!

Aaand... then the credits go rolling. Hooray. At the end it said how many "games" I had played. I'm not sure what that meant - how many times you entered the dungeon, maybe? Anyway, Skull Dungeon had the most at 24. xD Desert Palace had second most, and Ganon's Tower had third most (big surprise there). Amazingly, Misery Mire had the least at only two. Oh, wait... it was actually Hyrule Castle basement or whatever at one. Lol, only needed to save Zelda once. :P It said I'd played exactly 99 games total. Sweetness. I just needed one more for ONE HUNDRED! 8D

Sooo... that's it! It was awesome, but the pits still made it annoyingly hard. O.o

Random Zelda updates of no specific game.

Why? Because I pretty much did nothing on any one game, but did I ton of things on all my Zelda games together.

First, A Link to the Past (LttP) - Well, um, I STILL can't find the Heart Piece. But guess what? I found this super awesome glitch! Two, actually. Well, one isn't a glitch, it's an... easter egg. I think that's what they're called. XD It's the Chris Houlihan trick... anyone know about it? It only works on the SNES version - and the Wii version is exactly that! (TAKE THAT, SYDNEY!) You have to start from the Sanctuary and run as fast as you can to the pathway that you took to visit Zelda. Then you fall into a room with a ton of Rupees and a telepathic plate that tells you it's Chris's room. Lucky guy. He won some Nintendo contest. I want to be in a Zelda game! XDD The second is the "Ghost of Misery Mire" glitch. Ooh. Spooky. :D It's an invisible enemy in the area outside of Misery Mire. I had LOTS of fun with this one. xD

Second, Twilight Princess (TP)! - I DID THE AWESOME MAP GLITCH. It was soooo much fun, besides the fact that all three times I did it, I ended up having to restart my Wii for one reason or another. It's so much fun. All you have to do is get a bottle of water, and press that and your map button (1) at the same time. Link will empty the bottle, and then, at JUST the right moment, you press up to talk to Midna. You warp on the map, and then, if you got the timing right, Midna will talk to you, preventing you from warping. The first two times I did it, it was in Kakariko Village. With this glitch, you can't exit the area unless you warp, so if you get on Epona, you can go on this strange empty whiteness and just keep running. I ran so far out, I couldn't see Kakariko in the background anymore! O: It was scary, so I turned back. XD

Third, Spirit Tracks (ST) - Umm... actually, I did nothing on here. Besides changing my train front back to normal. I missed my old train whistle. O.o

Fourth, Majora's Mask (MM) - I did a lot on here! Like... in the course of the three days, I defeated all the bosses! Including Twinmold - who I hate, remember? I did it without the unlimited Magic Power, too! It wasn't hard though. Fierce Deity helps quite a bit. :P And after that, I did the unthinkable... I FOUGHT MAJORA WITHOUT FEIRCE DEITY MASK. Yeah, I know. I'm crazy. I ran out of arrows, and used three fairies, but I DID IT! :D It was HARD. Especially the whip guy - I never knew it (I killed him fast enough that it never came to this XD) but he sends out these annoying spinning spike thingys at you! They hurt!

Fifth, Ocarina of Time (OoT) - Yeah, so I completed that Forest Temple. And I got my bow. :D YAY! And, by the way, Phantom Ganon is so epic the second time. I couldn't even remember the fight my first time (except for the fact that I kept DYING on it) but this time it was so much fun! Mostly because I knew what to do, lolz.

Uhh... yeah, there's probably more, but I can't remember it. So, that's all for now!

LttP Update - WHERE THE HECK IS MY HEART PIECE?!?!?!

I can't find it anywhere! :(

Well... I suppose I should begin by saying which temple I'm in.

Ganon's Tower. O.o

Now that that's out of the way, I'll explain my angry title. No, I take that back. My FRUSTRATED title.

I just saved Zelda at Turtle Rock by defeating the evil monster Trinexx after an EPIC fight. :D It was lots of fun - I've never really bothered using my Ice Rod before that boss. Anyway, Zelda tells me it's time to head to Ganon's Tower (btw, someone confirm this: do you SERIOUSLY get the Triforce at the end?! O:). First, I want to get more potions/faeries. FYI: I am the WORST LttP player ever. I am saying this literally: I have not completed a single temple without getting a Game Over.

I fail at this game. xD

Adventure of Link? Never tried it, but it can't be that hard! Majora's Mask? Hah! No problem! Ocarina of Time? Might have taken a few walkthroughs, but I made it through without dying all the time. A Link to the Past? ...I don't think so.

Sorry about the ranting! Ummm... where was I...

Right. So, returning to the Light World with the Magic Mirror, I use my awesome ducky buddy (is it just me, or does that "flute" look like an Ocarina?) to fly to the Potion Shop. Then I fly to the Mountain Passage to get heart refills and some faeries in the caves up there.

It is there that it occurs to me: I have to use my good ol' reliable walkthrough to tell me where my last Heart Pieces are! Yeah, that's right. I'll admit it. Not EVERYTHING I've completed on LttP has been because of my awesomness. In between every dungeon, I use a very helpful walkthrough that tells me where all the Heart Pieces are!

I locate them all, ecstatic that I'm about to get all the Heart Pieces. I even went all the way back into the infamous Turtle Rock to get one I had forgotten!

So I reach Heart Piece #24... and realize something's wrong.

Why do I still have a quarter of a heart missing in that final Heart Container?

...Oh dangit...

Yes, folks. I'm missing a Heart Piece. And trust me, that is NOT good - not good AT ALL.

Tell me: why the HECK did it have to be the LAST Heart Piece? Why can't I just randomly not be able to find one halfway through the game? I NEED FULL HEARTS TO FIGHT GANON! It just won't be the same without them! That's why I've been using this stupid walkthrough in the first place!

I scan through the walkthrough, reading all the descriptions on how to get each individual Heart Piece. I'VE DONE ALL OF IT ALREADY!

I was so heartbroken - pun intended :P - that I went ALL the way back to Heart Piece number one. Guess what? I hastily do what it says. Turn on the water in Watergate Light World temple, go outside, and find the Heart Piece. As I expected, it wasn't there. Why? I ALREADY HAD IT. I do the same thing with numbers two and three and four... on and on and on. The only thing I DIDN'T try were the two that you find from the digging game and the Treasure Chest game. Desperate, I hurried to the Village of Outcasts and wasted a whole lot of Rupees in an attempt to find my last Heart Piece.

IT'S. NOT. THERE!

Without a choice, I braved Ganon's Tower anyway. :(

...On a happier note, I got the Red Mail! I'm Red Link now! And, in honor of Four Swords manga, I took out my Fire Rod and started shooting it everywhere when I got it. :D The weird thing is... my hat's purple. Am I Vio or Red? Huh. Guess I get to use the Bow AND the Fire Rod/Ice Rod! :D

As I was heading through the tower, I landed in a strange room. The floor was covered in ice, and two doors were sealed on either side. I walk around, and the suddenly the Armos fall from the sky! Remember: it's the first boss I fought! Later I ran into Twinmold's cousin - what's his name again? Lanmolas or something? Anyway, I easily kill him with my superly awesome powered up Golden Sword, despite having an annoying fireball-shooting statue after me. Actually, Armos was even easier - I just so happened to have JUST drank a potion (lucky timing on my part, because I had NO idea the boss was down there!) so I had full health. Full health means LAZER SHOOTING SWORD BEAMS! :D ...Bascically, I just stood there pressing the B button. I don't think I even moved once. O.o

I still miss my Heart Piece. :(

Umm... other news!

Well, this isn't Zelda, but HeartGold and SoulSilver came out a little while ago. My sister got it the day it came out because it's her birthday on the 21st. :( NOT FAIR! Really! First of all: when ST came out, I DIDN'T GET IT ON THE FIRST DAY! If anyone read my blog when I was counting down the days to get it, I got all excited because my copy was preordered, AND THEN THEY DIDN'T GET IT UNTILL THE NEXT DAY! Ugh. I wanted SoulSilver, but... I'd have to spend my money on it. I'm actually saving up for Zelda Wii, soo... that's not an option.

OH! RIGHT! I just remembered a few things.

1. I MIGHT buy a GameBoy - I'm desperate for Four Swords and/or Minish Cap!

2. I'm going to get a Zelda T-shirt! It's totally awesome. It says, "Don't make me go Zelda on you!" XD

3. I started over my sister's file, but because of it, she forced me to title the file "Doggy". O.o Usually my second file is called Link, but... well... I had to settle for this less-epic name or she wouldn't let me do it.

4. For no reason whatsoever, I fought Ganondorf again on Twilight Princess and filmed it on my cell phone.

5. For no reason whatsoever, I went into the boss battle on Spirit Tracks, got bored and turned it off.

6. For no reason whatsoever, I am telling you boring stuff that no one cares about.

And that's all! xD (dang, that was a LOOONG post.)

LttP Update - I. HATE. WALLMASTERS.

I haven't even gotten three rooms into the Skull Dungeon and I ALREADY DESPISE THEM.

I've hated them AND Floormasters ever since Wind Waker! They stole Medli from me on there, and trapped her in a cage! :( They even pulled ME to the front of the dungeon once or twice! Then they were even WORSE on Ocarina. Wallmasters pwn you on there. I always forget about them, and then, even though their shadow gives me a hint, they STILL manage to grab me. Happened more than once in the Gibdos place on Majora's Mask, when you have to run around giving them stuff they want.

Fortunately, I can't remember any on Twilight Princess... hmm...

Now I find that they're all over the Skull Dungeon on A Link to the Past. Worse, they don't even bother giving you a good hint. They're shadow comes over you RIGHT before they attack. Ugh.

Weeeelllll... I've basically done nothing else on A Link to the Past. Huh. Maybe this should be a Twilight Princess update. I've done SO much more on there, mostly because I actually KNOW what to do. Really. I'm thinking about making a walkthrough of this game - I've almost MEMORIZED the temples! I want to beat this file, then I'm going to start it over and do a walkthrough.

OH! OH! OH! I JUST REMEMBERED SOMETHING AWESOME I DID!

I did the BEST glitch in ALL of Zelda history! ...Maybe. Early Master Sword is pretty great, too, and some amazing OoT glitches...

STILL!

I did the... BACK IN TIME GLITCH!

Well... but this is a Link to the Past update... xD

I'll write it later.

LttP Update - Pwning some monsters, saving some maidens, getting magical capes, and other stuffs. :P

First of all, read my below post. I edited it for more information on Zelda Wii. ;)

REAL POST:

I just made a HUGE mistake. I challenged Hunter ThunderShield to a Link to the Past race! Now I have to try and complete the whole game before he does! Worst of all, I was an idiot and challenged him to this when he has already saved the fourth maiden! Just last night, I saved the second... when I challenged him, I HADN'T! I'm way behind him!

Hmm... well... guess that's what walkthroughs are for! :D

No, just kidding. I try to only use walkthroughs when I REALLY need them, lolz... which IS most of the time, but still... xD

Now for the update.

I saved the second maiden! And, in case I didn't mention this, I saved the first one, too! I found out that the boss I couldn't defeat was called "Helmasaur King". I guess I really good at guessing names of these guys or something - remember, I said that he was like the "Helmaroc King"? And then there was that time on Twilight Princess with that spider boss that I said, "That looks like Ghoma!" and its name was "Armoghoma"...

Then I went through the second temple (Watergate), and I eventually made it to the boss. Unlike other games, the bosses of ALttP are actually HARD. I couldn't beat him, even when I went in with full health. So I finally decided to go out of my way, and I caught two fairies in bottles AND made sure I had full health when I went in. THEN I beat him. :P

Then I got the magic cape through this "glitch" that lets you get it before you get the Titan Mitts. Yay! :D

Random: Isn't it strange that my last post said that the bunny wasn't very cute, but I didn't even mention the bunny? Hmm. Wait... did I mention the bunny? I don't think I did... O.o

Now I'm going to that third one. It's called Skull Palace or something, I think. Haha, all I know is that it's where the Master Sword is in the Light World. I wonder if the cute animals are still there... :P

Sunday, February 28, 2010

LttP Update - Well, the "bunny" wasn't as cute as I thought it would be...

Remember how I kept saying, "I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE LINK AS A BUNNY!" ...Yeah, it wasn't so great. And it was only, like, two times that I saw him that way until I got the Moon Pearl.

So, if I have the Moon Pearl, what do you think that means?

I GOT THE MASTER SWORD!

Had some fun throwing the fake ones around... just like my sister was talking about... xD

And then I got the REAL one!

And I got the Ether Medallion and Quake Medallion! Although I have no clue what they do, besides some really awesome move that makes me think of Din's Fire, Farore's Wind, and Nayru's Love from OoT.

So... Moon Pearl... Master Sword... beat that ANNOYING third boss... ugh. He gave me deja vu to Twinmold on Majora's Mask, and that is NOT good memories! Well, until I got the Chateau Romani it wasn't, at least. Now Chateau Romani is my best friend, especially when doing the Fierce Deity glitch (which I do quite frequently).

Oh! AND I beat Agahinim! Now, Agahinim... how do you think you pronounce his name? Meh, well, my friends and I kind of have an inside joke with his name, because of the odd way I pronounced it the first time I saw it. I said something like a-god-HEE-nam! Now I always say the HE part really, really loudly. xD

So, I'm in the Dark World, trying to save the first Maiden. I made it all the way to the boss (meaning I have Hammer now! Yay!), but I'm stuck. I CANNOT beat this guy. He is TOTALLY like Helmoroc King on Wind Waker - which makes me wonder if all the bosses in later games are based on LttP ones. Helmoroc King is EASY, but this guy - he's impossible! I keep dying, even when I went in with a fairy and full health! Grr... I know WHAT to do (whack him with your hammer until his shield breaks, then hit him with a few arrows), I JUST CAN'T DO IT!

So... I got the Magic Boomerang, too, which just makes the best item in the entire game better! And that awesome shield. And... uh... ooh! Master Sword PWNS! I can shoot lasers! :D

That's it... xD

Okay... I think the resolution is off. O.o

Remember how I said I would play no Zelda games until Part 12 was done?

Yeah... well that worked out PERFECTLY.

Just for the record - THAT'S SARCASM.

I already have broken my resolution many times over. I continuously play Spirit Tracks and Twilight Princess. Which I should probably write some updates about really soon...

I'm kind of confuzzled with LttP right now. There's this room where the door is locked, and the only thing in it is this enemy that is all square-ish or whatever, like a statue, that spins around with a red eye thing in the center of its... head? Anyway, if it sees you, it shoots lasers at you. I've seen them before. They're all over the Fire Temple of Twilight Princess which, btw, I just completed yesterday. You shoot them in the eye with arrows and they die. I tried that, and nearly got myself killed because of it. There's something resembling them all over OoT. They literally have eyes, and they shoot lasers at you, too. You throw bombs at them to kill them. Tried that. Another failure.

HOW ELSE DO YOU DEFEAT THESE THINGS? I tried EVERYTHING! Arrows. Bombs. Boomerang. Ice Rod. Pegasus Boots (yeah, that REALLY didn't worked out xD). Lantern. Book of Mudora (crazy idea -.-). Mushroom (rofl, I found it in the Lost woods - I was wondering what it did). The obvious sword (I'm desperate!). NOTHING.

Um... yeah, just from that you can tell that obviously, my resolution isn't working. xD I've completed LOTS of side quests in Spirit Tracks - btw, there was this one place where this statue said, "This is the replica of a temple in an old kingdom. Phantoms guard the halls. You can't use your sword or arrows," and I totally though TEMPLE OF THE OCEAN KING!

...Sorry.

Anyway, it's over. I can't live without Zelda games unless I have a really, really, REALLY good book (Percy Jackson! Yay!). And that won't help get part 12 written if I have a book.

Bye bye, resolution!

LttP Update - Now what?

This game is confusing. The controls and everything is fun, and the puzzles are great, but how are you suppose to know what to do? The beginning was great. Zelda guided me through a lot of it, and then tells me EXACTLY where to go in Karikaro, and then another kid tells me EXACTLY where to find the elder, then the elder tells me EXACTLY where to find the temple - and then it kind of stops there.

I completed the first temple. I thought it was really cute when I beat the boss, lolz. The way Link spins his sword just made me laugh with delight. But they COULD have made the length of time that you hold the Pendant just a TINY bit shorter. o.o

I hurried back to the elder, and guess what? The only thing he does is hands me pegasus boots and tells me is "go to the east side of Lake Hylia". Now, any other game, I'd know exactly where Lake Hylia is... but HOW am I suppose to know where it is on this game when I'VE ONLY BEAT ONE DARN TEMPLE? Geez! They did NOT think that out very well!

I traveled around and FINALLY figured out where the "East side of Lake Hylia" was. Guess what I found in there? ICE ROD! O: Just like Red in Four Swords manga! Yay!

And now I'm TOTALLY confused. I guess I should go back to the elder, maybe. He might tell me where to go now... possibly. Ugh. Because I didn't know what to do, I kind of just wandered around Hyrule and explored. I found some guy playing the flute with beautiful woodland animals all around. Then he ran away. -.- And then I went to Karikaro and blew up some guy's house to find out where his brother was hidden. Then I went outside the house, and some random girl told me to race to the finish in fifteen seconds. I was like, "Um, okay," and I did eighteen seconds. From then on, I was obsessed with trying to beat my record until I FINALLY got fifteen seconds exactly and this guy gave me a Piece of Heart. Then I found a building with this weird book-ish sign on top of it, so I went inside and found rows and rows of books. There was one particular green-colored book on top of a bookcase, but I couldn't reach. Rowan had an idea, though, so she ran into the bookcase with the Pegasus Boots and the Book of Mudora fell down! All it does it make weird beeping noises though. Unless you need magic power. I wasted all my magic power playing with the Ice Rod. xD Then I tried to catch some guy who keeps running away. I totally failed numerous times before deciding that you WEREN'T suppose to catch him. And then... I also got caught by these annoying girls who keep screaming "Help! That's Link, the guy who stole Princess Zelda!" I'm like, "Thanks, lady," and then the guards come after me. But they're stupid. As Sydney told me, "they can see through walls but can't walk through them." So he keeps on running into a bush until I finally cut it down by accident and he came after me. And, really, why do they only send one guard in the first place? If I'm able to sneak Zelda out of the castle, either not catching the attention of the guard or defeating them, WHY would ONE guard capture me? Or kill me. Whatever they were trying to do...

So... I suppose tonight I'll go after one of the pendants. I still don't know which one I'm suppose to go after, so I'll just guess the one closest to Karikaro. No clue what it is, though. In fact, I don't know which pendant I just got. xD

LttP Update - The Boomerang OWNS!

I now have two items on A Link to the Past: Boomerang and Bow!

Okay, actually, scratch that. I have the lantern, too. And bombs. And I think I have a bottle. Probably other stuffs, too, that I can't remember.

But, still, boomerang is my favorite so far. Isn't that surprising? I mean, the boomerang was SERIOUSLY neglected in Ocarina of Time - you use it for, what, half a temple (or in this case, Lord Jabu-Jabu's Belly O.o), then turn into adult Link so you can't use it any longer! In Wind Waker, it was used a BIT more, but not by much. It's super helpful when you're in the Forbidden Woods, but otherwise, arrows are SO much better. What about Majora's Mask? Wait... do you get the boomerang on there? If you do, I've already forgotten, so it can't be that important. xD Um... what other games? Ooh! Twilight Princess was kind of an improvement. There was WIND with that awesome boomerang. Bestest boomerang ever, for sure. :P But, still, you don't use it much. I think that, with the wind and all that, they could have made a lot more puzzles with it outside of the Forest Temple. That would have been lots of fun.

Now, on other games I have, like Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, the Boomerang is a GREAT item. In fact... sometimes I prefer it over bow and arrows (now always, though, especially when you get Bow of Light in ST)! You get draw a line for it to go. Awesome, right? And, especially in ST, you get to use it for lots of fun puzzles. Like, bringing fire over to melt some ice, or bringing an icy fire over a lake to freeze it? AWE-SOME!

But, still...

Boomerang isn't always the top item of the Zelda series. I've gathered at least that much from my games.

However, in a Link to the Past, I can't help but love it! And... hate my arrows.

They're a disappointment, in this game. They take too long to take out, first of all, and then they can only go in a straight path. The boomerang, on the other hand, I can direct in the way I want to go. An unsuspecting monster to my left can take a major WHACK from my boomerang if I choose to make it go that way! :P

So... I've been taking too long to write this post. Point is: In LttP, Boomerang pwns, Bow stinks.

Now I'm, um, stuck... I think. Maybe. Just because I can't remember what part I'm at. Oh, wait! Now I do! I died in this one room! xD Um, okay. Guess I shouldn't advertise that. So, I'm not stuck, then, I just need to get past the room where a zillion cannon balls are all shooting at me. Ugh. So, I'm in the East Temple, btw. I didn't know this until my sister told me, but apparently you can do the temples in any order? Hmm. Well, I just can't wait to go to the Dark World. You turn into a bunny, there! YAY! BUNNY!

You know, the other day we saw a dead bunny on the side of the road...

Um... changing the subject now...

Yayz! My First LttP Update!

I know this will sound NOTHING like the post title... but I seriously think my DSi has problems. Why else is it that I write in my post title, it disconnects from the internet, then publishes my unfinished post when I tell it to connect again? Ugh. That just happened now.

Okay, now with the REAL post...

I OFFICIALLY HAVE SEVEN LEGEND OF ZELDA GAMES!

We've got these games (in order from date received): Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Spirit Tracks, and now... A LINK TO THE PAST!

I'm ecstatic! LttP marks a huge progression for me. Not only do I now have another old game, and apparently one of the best Zelda games, but this is my first 2-D Zelda game. Yeah, unless ST and PH are somehow considered two-dimensional, LttP is my first. Until this point I've always been an expert on 3-D LoZ - I have all of them, don't I? And, more impotantly, I've completed them all, too.

I didn't get very far. I snuck Zelda into the sanctuary, which gave me a vague feeling of deja vu from Spirit Tracks. Except Zelda doesn't die in LttP. Thank goodness. xD Then I went to Karikaro (ugh! Those women there are evil, giving me away to the guards! Gosh, how'd Agahinim get those signs up so quickly, anyway?). And... that's pretty much it! I didn't do much else. Sigh... it's too bad the Wii isn't portable. They really should make past games (like GameBoy - I mean, Oracle games would be nice! Or Minish Cap!) on the DSi. I'd buy every Zelda game availiable. ;)

Oh... em.... gee....

No way. No way no way no way.

I cannot believe this, but... I haven't played any Zelda game for FIVE DAYS STRAIGHT.

AH! It's scary! I've never gone that long! Okay, I haven't gone that long for a WHILE. Nah, there was that YEAR without them with Wind Waker...

I have to play something tonight. Have to. There is no way I'm going to do anything else. Well... unless Sydney finishes the next Percy Jackson book....

Okay, that's what I've been doing. I'll admit it. I've been READING every night. No computer, no video games. Just READING. And a little Brawl mixed in between every once and a while.

Now, when I look at it this way, it's no wonder that I finished every book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series so quickly! I read it ALL DAY, doing nothing else. Except piano practice and, as I said, some Brawl.

Wow. It's still pretty amazing. No Zelda... gosh, I have to buy ALttP soon or I'll run out of things to do!

A short update...

I have exactly... one minute to write this entire post. O.o

Well, let's see, I played Wind Waker last night, beat that impossible Wind Temple. Surprisingly, I found A Link to the Past manga at the store, even though it wasn't February when I found it. Um, I still haven't bought the GAME a Link to the Past, sadly. And, uh, I've been playing TP a LOT, and I did a Karkario Village Graveyard glitch...

Um, gtg! Bye! xD

New Zelda game soon! ...Maybe.

The other night, I babysat some of my family's friends' kids, and I got ten bucks for it. That got me wondering what I would spend ten dollars on. I considered a number of options (including Crowns on Wizard101... I need some for the school house...) and then my mind just so HAPPENED to wander to Zelda games. I am almost done with Majora's Mask, right? I mean, I'm in the Stone Tower now. That's near the end, isn't it? It's the last giant, so it must be.

Then it suddenly occured to me that Majora's Mask... is the last Zelda game I need to complete!

Nooooo!!! If I finish that... what will I do with all my time? It's unlikely that I'm going to try and beat it again... my TP file is boring, because I watched my friend do that part and then he didn't save... I suppose I could do Ocarina of Time for a second time - I mean, I AM suppose to go to Karikaro for the first time on my third file... or I could do Spirit Tracks! I've completed almost all sidequests, so it wouldn't really matter if I deleted it and start over! But, uh, I LOVE the final boss... Phantom Hourglass? Well, actually, I COULD do that without losing much. Both files are on Bellum, so what would it matter if I deleted one?... Ooh! Ooh! Wind Waker! But I've beat that game SO many times, and I highly doubt that, even with four memory cards, I have any free files on there...

Now, back to the point. What about my ten dollars?

Our friend, Sydney JadeHammer, has A Link to the Past for GameBoy. Unfortunately, that is no longer an option for me, for I traded in my DS Lite for a DSi, which doesn't play Gameboy games (my poor Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga game! I can't play it anymore... not that I cared about it much in the first place, lol). Besides, if I were getting a GameBoy Zelda game, I'd rather have Minish Cap.

HOWEVER...

I CAN buy A Link to the Past on our Wii Shop Channel! YAY! Also, I think that they even made new controls for the Wii controller! That would be SO cool. Plus, on top of it all, it would be my FIRST EVER 2-D ZELDA GAME! O:

If I do decide to spend my $10 on A Link to the Past, I will have something to do! Yay for no boredom! :D

Um, but there's still the option of Crowns... xD

LttP - "There's ANOTHER Master Sword here!"

Okay, I seriously think that that line has GOT to be the most hilarious thing my sister, Rowan WillowLeaf as she's known, has ever said in her entire life.

I think everyone else must call me crazy for thinking that. Really, I, um, like it a bit too much. But I just find it HILARIOUS.

So, I went over to Sydney's house this weekend. She had recently hooked her Wii up to Wi-Fi, so she went ahead and bought Pokemon Rumble off the Wii Shop Channel (believe me, Sydney isn't THAT much of a Zelda fan... she prefers Pokemon. The only reason she even knows what Zelda is is because we told her so much about it...). So she kinda forced Rowan and I to play three player with her. Since she called the Pidgeot and Haunter and Rowan got the Mew, I ended up with few choices. In the end I decided upon a Goldeen because it knew Supersonic which confused the enemies. It was really helpful. :)

Anyway, that's not the point. After that I let Sydney play my Twilight Princess game by allowing her to make her own file. Lol, she had lots of fun ("When you throw stuff at Epona, she gives you Rupees!" "SQUIRREL!" "Noooo! I lost my rock!" XD Don't ask). Unfortuantely, NONE of it had to do with the main storyline like she was supposed to, so finally I lied to make her go ("C'mon, Sydney. If you go to the ranch and do your work, you'll get paid rupees!"). So she went, and we got as far as the second day... before she had to save and turn off.

Anyway, during that time, Rowan was playing one of Sydney's two Zelda games. She has Phantom Hourglass like we do, but A Link to the Past like we... don't.

She allowed both of us to make a file, but I've never played mine, lol. Anyway, after my sis was almost turned in by some evil little kid (You're all over the wanted posters, but she talks to people... Geez Rowan, get a clue!) she traveled to the Forest.

Idk how, but somehow she found the MASTER SWORD! Well, you'd think she'd be excited, but unlike all the other Zelda games we own, you can't pull out the Master Sword at first. You have to collect gems... or something... Idk, I wasn't paying much attention... XD

Anywho, so Sydney and I keep on going along with our Twilight Princess stuff ("Geez, Sydney! Stop throwing stuff at Epona! Okay, you named her Mist. Whatever. STOP THROWING STUFF AT HER! You could have met Midna by now if you'd tried!") . Rowan went through the Forest some more, exploring, and constantly annoying Sydney by asking for directions (Rowan:"How do you pick up the pots?" Sydney:"Um, I don't know! Press L or R or something!" Rowan:"Dangit... my L and R buttons don't work..." Me: "Use my DS!" Rowan: "Nah, that's okay." Sydney: "You do realize at some point you HAVE to pick up the pots, right..?" Rowan: "I'll live...").

Then, while Sydney was herding some goats around on Epona (or I think she called her's Mist) Rowan said out that amazingly hilarious line:

"Woah... There's ANOTHER Master Sword here!"

Idk why, but Sydney and I completely BURST OUT laughing. I couldn't help it! But just the thought of another Master Sword...

Sydney said, "Um, you'd better not take it. It's probably a trap or something."

Haha, but I always have to be the weird one: "Take it, Rowan! Take it! I want to see what happens!" XD

Rowan refused to take it though. And then she died by some monster when she tried to get out of the Forest. O. o

I told her she should have taken it!
