"hey look there's a new header
kthxbai" - Sierra Winterbreeze, October 20th, 2013
...I wrote that.
And then I realized that it'd make me look really stupid.
So, uh...
Hey, look! There's a new header! Okay, thanks, bye!
...What am I doing with my life.
Well, since that Ocarina of Time 3D Header had been up for a ridiculously long amount of time, I decided, prior to the release of The Wind Waker HD, that the best way to celebrate a blog about Medli was create a header that actually freaking had Medli in it for once from the upcoming game. And I did! Or I started to. It only took... a month... to finish! But look at its beauty!
...I mean... it looks like an ocean, right? That's a wave. Or it's supposed to be. My sister made it (so I can't take any blame for it looking stupid). Does it look like a wave?
Anyway. This PROBABLY is not my monthly post, so don't worry about that. I've got stuff to say about A Link Between Worlds. I almost wrote a post about that at the beginning of the month, but apparently I got lazy and never finished it. Maybe you'll see it turned into something on the last day of the month, as usual.
(Oh, wait, that's Halloween, huh? Well, never mind then. Eh. I'll figure out something.)
Have a good evening, everyone!
Hello random stranger I don't know! I was wondering how long it usually takes you to master a Zelda song, and possibly the backstory on how you got an epic harp. And also, how many songs you know. And also, what are your opinions on the Wind Waker HD? I mean, for someone who can't get internet in their "game room"? Are the Tingle Bottles as necessary as they sound for completely beating the game? Oh, and before I forget, are the members in the corner your followers? Or does your comment as "nonexistent readers" pretty much clarify that up? *cough* Sorry for so many questions. I tend to... ramble. :y Anyway, I'm miniluigi008 (as you see already) and I'll be reading your blog posts because you're hilarious. I mean, not in a bad way. Unless, that was intentional, in which case yes, in a VERY VERY bad way. If you want to reply to me elsewhere I can be found on scratch.mit.edu (under the same name of miniluigi008.)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Your comment made my day! :D
DeleteIt depends on the song I'm learning. Every song has its own difficulty, so it's hard to say. For example, I've been trying to perfect Ballad of the Wind Fish for several months now, whereas I learned both parts of Medli's Prayer in two or three days. A lot of it depends first of all on whether or not I knew it on piano before (I've got a VERY extensive mental library of Zelda songs on there) and how many sharps or flats there are (since my type of harp is not very good at those). As far as how many songs I know... Well, I guess I know Ballad of the Goddess, Fi's Lament, Sacred Grove, Ballad of the Wind Fish (mostly), and Medli's Prayer... But there are several songs that I know on piano that I could easily transpose to harp given the time. I've played Song of Storms a few times on harp, but I don't play it enough to have a consistent arrangement.
(...If that made any sense...)
I bought my harp from a local dealer. I decided I wanted to learn harp while watching a Christmas program that had a harpist in it, and my mom did all the research and everything that goes into it. We rented a small harp for about five months before purchasing one. Funny enough, we unintentionally ended up hiring the same harpist that had been playing in that Christmas program as my teacher.
I love The Wind Waker HD. I really, really love it. It's a fantastic remake and I think it had enough new features to make it worth coming back to. As I discussed in my previous post, I really love the Tingle Bottles. They're not necessary at all, just like in the original. But they make a LOT of the Nintendo Gallery easier, if you intend to complete that. However, one solution you could possibly use is that The Wind Waker HD does not NEED a TV -- you can play it entirely on the GamePad. I don't get terribly great internet in my room, either, so sometimes I take it out into my living room and plug in the Wii U out there and play on the GamePad to get Tingle Bottles.
Yes, the members up in the corner are my "followers," hahaha. But since none of them ever comment, and just from observing my own view statistics... few of them actually frequently read my entries. So I've adopted the phrase "nonexistent readers" just as a kind of joke.
And hey, rambling is fine. In case you haven't noticed, I do it a LOT. So glad to hear that someone actually appreciates my humor. XD Thanks again for commenting, miniluigi.
That's pretty funny that you hired the same person! xD What are your opinions on teachers in that sense? I have this opinion where I want to teach myself and not be rushed, but in the same sense I'm not the greatest at playing the piano. (Of course, that may not be my fault, I drag my electric piano out and my parents start saying "are you trying to annoy us?" And I would be led to believe that trying to practice my ocarina would win a worse reaction since it can travel through my house's walls.) And I know this is slightly off topic, but do you play other games besides Zelda and Wizard 101?
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I'd suggest taking lessons from a teacher just to get the basics. After a while, I think you get to a point where you can learn things on your own. But I always feel like it's best to start with someone who knows what you're doing, so that you don't learn it wrong, haha. Then you can take it upon yourself. Although having a teacher to ask the occasional question is nice... I pretty much teach myself piano now, since I've been playing since Kindergarten, but my mom teaches so I can ask her questions any time I need to.
DeleteI do play some other games, haha! My favorite non-Zelda games are Skyrim and Kid Icarus: Uprising, and recently I played through Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure and loved it a lot. I don't get to play other games TOO much because I'm kind of poor, but... yeah, there are other things! (You can find some old posts about Dragon Quest and Pokémon and stuff on this blog, actually...)
Thanks for the advice! I was thinking you would be playing games along the line of Mario Kart: Double Dash & Animal Crossing (which I saw a mention in a pokémon post.) Those are some of my favorite games besides Super Mario Sunshine.
DeleteI do have Kid Icarus: Uprising (which is probably the hardest game I've ever played.) Like, seriously, this game is impossible to beat. [Insert Beedle's voice here.] "OHHHH, you want to not die? Sorry, easy mode costs 500 rupees. You don't even have rupees? How are you buying food?"
Have you seen the adventures of Puppycat? Some of it is a little gross, (and by little I mean... huge,) but the show is overall hilarious. (And by show, I mean a ten-minute short that has no sequel.) But it's cute in the same sense, so...
No rush for checking here, but a week is a long time... :3
And I'm still on Scratch... (which may or may not have a link to--) Do you play Minecraft? :P
Gosh, late reply.. I didn't even realize this comment was here.. o_o Sorry! Wow, this was bad...
DeleteAh, I haven't played Mario Kart in years, but my sister still ADORES Animal Crossing. She plays New Leaf every day. We've got all four of those games, haha, but I rarely get on them anymore. And yeah... I guess Kid Icarus is pretty challenging. XD I got used to it after a while. I'm actually able to play some of the earlier levels on 5 or 6 difficulty by now! I've practiced a lot, though; it's ranked number one on my activity charts for play time on my 3DS.
I've never heard of Puppycat. O_o But I can check it out, haha. And yes, I do play Minecraft! Sometimes. XD I used to play it a lot about a year ago but now I only get on every once and a while to play creative mode. (I've got this AWESOME castle in progress...) I would love to play with you, though, if that's what you're suggesting! I've been looking for a good server since my old one closed down.
This is so totally perfect! :D I wasn't expecting you to play Minecraft at all! *explodes with happiness* I actually own a server, (which has a nice community, but it's very small.) You'll probably know the people there since there's only about 20 or so people on the whitelist. My server is "weegeeservah.no-ip.org", and information about the server can be found here (http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/3316931/) and here for the most recent event (http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/14882196/). It's usually only up on weekends. (Or weekdays when I'm sick, I actually have a status on my profile for when that happens (under About.) http://scratch.mit.edu/users/miniluigi008/
DeleteThere is a whitelist though, so I'll need your username.
DeleteActually, it's 1.7.2 now, I just updated. And a lot of the plugins are broken, but it still maintains core functionality... I think.
DeleteI don't know if you got what I said earlier, so I'm just going to say it again: If I knew you were going to take this long to reply, I would've asked more stuff. xP And since you'll see this eventually, please be sure to check for my messages (I'm going to do my best to make sure this follower isn't "nonexistent.")
ReplyDeleteHey, I forgot to tell you, the requirements on the project you don't need to meet, because you have a blog (the requirements are only to stop really small 5 year olds who go around looking for a Minecraft server.) I still need your username though. :P Please let me know!
ReplyDeleteOkay! XD My username is Heroine_of_Time. I can't play at all this weekend, but... possibly the weekend after? :D
DeleteOkay, you're whitelisted! Sounds aweshum. :D I forget what I was going to say, so I'm just going to end this comment because I have to go to school :P bai
DeleteWhat timezone are you in? I'm in eastern, I'm just wondering.
