Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link Available for Ambassadors!

If you were part of the select few in the Ambassador program, meaning you connected to the Nintendo 3DS eShop before August 11th, then your first 10 NES games are now available for download, free of charge!
Legend of Zelda is there, as expected, as well as Adventure of Link. Other games include:
Super Mario Bros.
Metroid
Donkey Kong Jr.
Yoshi
Ice Climbers
Balloon Fight
NES Open Tournament Golf
Wrecking Crew
And an "Ambassador Certificate," which is basically just a video explaining how to receive notifications about the Ambassador program in a variety of languages.
I've played Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link a little - particularly Adventure of Link, since I never got passed the second dungeon on my other version, which is for the Wii's Virtual Console. It's not any different, of course. ...That doesn't mean I'm not having trouble with it, haha. Adventure of Link is VERY hard.
Legend of Zelda, however... there's a difference! Well, okay, there's not a difference between the original and this one, but there IS a difference between other remakes of this game! On my version (on the Wii Virtual Console) and on the GameBoy, the story message at the very beginning of the game (which you see if you wait long enough staring at the logo) was re-written due to the large amount of errors. I was expecting the same for this remake, but sure enough, when I waited long enough to view it, it still possessed its obvious errors like "Triforce with Power" and "Prince Darkness 'Gannon'". Interesting...
Anyway... happy playing, Ambassadors! It's still to be announced when the last 10 GameBoy games will be coming out, so we'll just have to wait and see.

The Legend of Zelda to be released on 3DS eShop

Today, Nintendo posted on their 3DS's Facebook page about a new price-cut for the 3DS. And I noticed it without Zelda Dungeon's help. I'm so proud of myself. :D

However, the price-cut to $169.99 isn't the important part (although I'm sure many of you that couldn't afford Ocarina of Time 3D earlier are excited about that). It's what the people who already have a 3DS (like me) are going to receive. Since we're apparently their most loyal customers (I felt quite loved and finally appreciated after reading that statement), we're going to receive 20 free new games! Half of them will be released early to us, and the other half are only EXCLUSIVELY for this offer. The best part? One of them happens to be The Legend of Zelda, the very first game in the series. It's one of the ones released early, so later on, even you with the price-cut 3DS's will be able to buy it.

For current 3DS owners, all you need to do is connect to the eShop before August 11th. Later they'll give us the games somehow.

I'm excited, even though I already have The Legend of Zelda for Virtual Console on Wii (and still haven't completed it, but whatever... I'm in Ganon's Castle and I already have the Silver Arrow, so I'm pretty close...).

LoZ and AoL Updates

Phew! Haven't done one of these in a while. But so far today, there hasn't been any major Zelda news. ...Okay, well, GameStop is hosting Ocarina of Time 3D tryouts, but there's none where I live. *sob* You can check out this link for locations. Then, apparently Mexico is listing Skyward Sword as coming out in Fall 2011. Dang it! So now both you lucky Europeans AND the Mexicans will get it earlier than people in the U.S.! >_> Maybe I should just go to Mexico and get it, rofl. At least it's closer than Europe, and I know a little Spanish...

...Anyway? Update. Yeah.

All right! I just need to do this for my own enjoyment - I love writing about my Legend of Zelda experiences. For those of you who don't know, "updates" on this blog typically mean "My rants about what I did in a Legend of Zelda game and how close I am to completing it." I know, it's not the type of thing a professional fansite would do, but hey... I'm not professional. I almost wish I was - I'd hear Zelda news right away, then - but no. And until then, I'll continue on with my little Zelda rants. Just don't turn away from this blog just because of this one little post... I'll still give Zelda news and everything! These are becoming less and less frequent, as you may have noticed. So... yeah.

I'll try to keep this short, but I don't know... I'm fitting two different game experiences into one post, and if you've been following this blog, you'll KNOW how long these can get...

Let's start with... The Legend of Zelda! The very first game in the series. Last update, I was stuck trying to find Ganon. Well, thanks to Seth GoldenBlood (yet again), I now know where the last dungeon is. I've been working on it - and, in fact, I found the Silver Arrow, I just need to find Ganon. But... Seth uses a walkthrough. He has this book that walks you through NES games, and he read to me from it. Do you think that counts as breaking my vow of "no-walkthroughs?" ...Whatever. It was funny when he was reading from it, though.

"'Great! You're off to fight Ganon. You've done well to get this far!'" I rolled my eyes. He shrugged. "What? That's what it says. Anyway: 'Now that you've completed Dungeon 8, you should have all but one piece of the Triforce.'"

He looked at me. I looked at him. We exchanged confused stares, so I brought up my collection screen on the game.

"Um, Seth... that doesn't look like all but one piece..."

And I had a perfect, completed triangle right there. The full Triforce of Wisdom.

He just gazed at it for awhile, then bursted out laughing. "Sierra? I think you hacked the game. That, or you broke it."

...So I dunno what happened. XD I think something's wrong with that walkthrough. I've heard EVERYWHERE that there's 8 pieces of the Triforce, so I can't be missing one. And if nothing IS wrong with the walkthrough, then we have two theories. One is that the little border around my Triforce of Wisdom is a piece of it. Two is that it was referring to the fact that I have the Triforce of Wisdom, but not the Triforce of Power, since there were only two pieces in the first game. But... you'd think it wouldn't say "ALL but one" then... for there to be an "all" you'd think there'd have to be more than one...

So. Dungeon 9... I have to complete that.

Now for Adventure of Link, the other game I'm working on! Don't worry, this one isn't as long. Or as funny, sadly. I just wanted to mention that... I BEAT THE FIRST DUNGEON! YEEEESSS!

...I was very excited, okay? That horse-boss-thing was HARD to beat!

Yep.

...In other news, I started A Link to the Past again. I pretty much completed the whole game on a walkthrough the first time - thus creating my new "no-walkthroughs" rule - so I'm trying to replay it and regain some dignity. I'd been stuck in one room for FOREVER... until I figured out you could kill these one creatures with pots. I thought you needed the bow to kill them! Anyway, that unlocked these Anti-Fairies hovering around a pot, and the pot revealed a switch that gave me the Big Key, which IN TURN let me get the Bow. Yay! After that I quickly completed the Eastern Palace dungeon, and then the next Desert one. I'm now in Tower of Hera.

Also, on Ocarina of Time, just a few hours ago, I played my swordless file. ...Hehe, yeah, I've had the "Swordless Link glitch" activated ever since I did it back in May 2010... over a year ago. It's a long process that you can find my unhelpful description of here, but it's pretty fun. Pointless, though, since you can't use your sword. Its only practical use is that it lets you use items on Epona. Anyway, my friend Deku (nickname) was over for a while, and since he's getting OoT 3DS when it comes out (and he doesn't have the original), he begged me to play this game. So for some stupid reason, I thought I'd try to beat Ganon while swordless.

...It didn't really work out. At first it was fine, since I'd bounce his magic back at him with bottles, then hit him with the Megaton Hammer, but... then he started doing that magic attack that you need a Spin Attack to deflect, and my timing is so bad I can't hit him with Light Arrows during that. And THEN, when I finally would get him down, he wouldn't die! My hammer just WASN'T working. So after falling for the thousandth time, I got so mad I just equipped the Biggoron Sword, spin-attacked that magic right back at him, and defeated him with one sword swipe (since the hammer had weakened him so much). Aaand then, in the next phase, I did the swordless glitch again. XD

Fun.

Kind of.

It was for me.

Uh-huh! End of update. Have a good day! ;)

LoZ Update - So... now what?

I have another large "thank you" to make. I've thanked many friends before - Seth, Deku, Sydney... but this is a person I actually DON'T know in real life. Or very well at all. He's just a person on fan fiction.net who wrote an AMAZING story that truly deserves more reviews. So I'm here to say....

Thank you, Royazali. He wrote The Legend of Zelda: Seven Swords Saga which makes me lol, literally... click the link above to check it out. Anyway, after a while of reading his/her (you know, I just realized I don't know which... I assumed he, but now Idk... XD) story, I FINALLY decided to review. Finally. And I mentioned in my review that I couldn't find the eighth dungeon on Legend of Zelda... and he was super nice and helped me!

...He didn't help me MUCH, to be honest... but he kinda did! And I GREATLY appreciate the thought. :D

Basically, he told me the dungeon was in the south-eastern corner in the forest somewhere, so I went there. Of course, the EXACT south-eastern corner is just a useless area with a stupid Zola/Zora and perhaps a few Octrocks. So that didn't help much.

But then I started EXPLORING!

I got to this one place that's bordering a fairy fountain, where there's a few Octorocks wandering around. After slaying them, I noticed an odd bush off to the side. It was standing alone, by itself... almost like a block in a dungeon...

So, like blocks in dungeons, I walked over and pushed it. And guess what? There was a secret tunnel beneathe! O: There were three different stairs and an old man telling me to choose any one I felt like. Each of them led to different regions of Hyrule. ...No, they didn't go to the eighth dungeon. But they did give me an idea.

I recalled this one area that was conveniently in the forest, AND happened to be near the south-eastern corner. It had this one mysterious bush off by itself, just like the one I'd just discovered. I found it again (after spending a LONG time being lost) and pushed the bush to reveal...

A staircase! (Da-na-na-naaaah!)

...No, it didn't make that noise. But it should have. :( It did the puzzle-solved theme instead. XD

And I went down the staircase... AND FOUND THE EIGHTH DUNGEON! WOOT!

I completed it - only died once, too! I think I'm getting better at this game, considering I died almost ten times in the sixth dungeon. Well, I'm already doing better than A Link to the Past - I died exactly 99 times by the time I completed that game, remember? And I did most of that on a walkthrough... and now, on LoZ, I've got exactly 50 deaths, and I'm going to find Ganon. Yayz!

Actually, beating the eighth dungeon surprised me quite a bit. I was walking around, then suddenly opened a locked door and led into this room with that one boss... Gleeok, right? I think. XD So I fought it, and died - that was where my one death came from. But then I tried again, this time with potions - and won!

And I walked in the room to find the last Triforce of Wisdom piece!

...I didn't think that it was the actual BOSS. I thought it was a mini-boss. So finding the Triforce piece surprised me a lot. XD

Of course, I went back afterward to TRULY complete the dungeon. There were a lot of rooms I didn't explore, and I hadn't gotten the map yet. I found that... and the magic key. Yay!

So now, with the full Triforce of Wisdom and (as far as I can tell) every item in the game, it's off to pwn Ganon!

...So where exactly is he?

*sigh*

Idk what to do now. I know he's in Death Mountain SOMEWHERE... but Idk where. I think it might have something to do with that one area that looks like an arrow. It just... there's nothing there, so... I think it's hiding something! CURSE YOU, EVIL ARROW!!!

...I'm so weird. -.-

Well... enjoy your weekend. If anyone knows the more SPECIFIC location of Ganon, it'd be nice if you would tell me... so... tell me! :P

...Please?

LoZ Updates - I did NOT see that coming. (SPECIAL THANKS TO SETH AND DEKU :D)

Wow. I haven't posted in a while! I had a post on the 13th that I never published, but... it was a rant about a guy in my history class. XD Somehow I doubt you guys would care about it. It DID have to do with Legend of Zelda (he thinks he knows stuff about it, but he really doesn't, and always manages to make me sound stupid - I mean, Hylian is NOT backwards Japanese. I won't believe him unless Skyward Sword comes out with spoken language). Anyway, then I started a post on the 20th - THIS post - but I didn't finish it. So here. :D

Now, Idk what dungeon I left off at... so I'm gonna skip to dungeon seven. XD Dungeon five took me a while but became fun when I had friends over (guess you're going to miss hearing about the bet I made with Paige, Taryn's sister), dungeon six was impossible (TOO MANY FREAKING WIZZROBES!!!!) and dungeon seven SEEMED easy at first, but then... well... I needed some HELP...

So far in The Legend of Zelda, everything's been pretty straightforward. Everything that I needed to do was pretty obvious: Find the next dungeon. Kill all the enemies in this room. Push all the blocks to find one with a secret passage. Defeat the boss. Get the epic shiny triangle. Yeah.

But dungeon seven... just wow...

Like I said, at first, dungeon seven seemed EASY. Considering I just died, like, ten times in dungeon six ALONE, this was just... awesome! I never lost more than three hearts. Most of the time I stayed in a corner and just shot sword beams at the enemies. If I got hit, then I'd switch to my magic wand. And best of all: NO WIZZROBES! (I think they're going up in ranks next to Leevers and Zolas/Zoras...)

Buuuut then...

*sigh*

I discovered that this dungeon used BOMBS as its main item. I mean, the item I FOUND there was the Red Candle, but... it doesn't seem any different than the Blue Candle, except you can use it multiple times per room (and what's the point? Why would you need it more than once?). But I found out about the bomb usage before I even found the Red Candle. I found three old men - or rather, three rooms that old men should be in. One says, "There's a secret in the tip of the nose" or something (which didn't make ANY sense until I found the dungeon map). Another says, "I bet you want more bombs." At one point I ran out, so I bought them from him... and now I can carry 12 bombs! Sweetness! And to think I would have passed up that opportunity if I hadn't run out... I didn't realize he meant he'd raise your maximum...

And the third... well, it didn't have an old man in it. It had an enemy that I found out in a few posts ago (when I started looking at Zelda Wiki randomly in the middle of a post) was a Goriya. It just said, uh... "Grr grrr!" or something along those lines. XD Maybe it grumbled instead of growled. Idk! But I was stuck for a while... UNTIL...

ZELDA WIKI SAVES THE DAY! YAAAAY!

I remembered Zelda Wiki mentioning this when I read the entry for Goriya! Apparently... you buy food from the shop and then it moves. :D

...No, Zelda Wiki doesn't count as a walkthrough. I said I'd make it through this game on my own (or did I?) and I meant it. No walkthroughs! The only outside help I ever got was from friends, Zelda Wiki (just once), and briefly an Overworld map (dungeon 2 was hard to find - but I found all the others on my own. And I didn't follow it - just found the relative area of dungeon two and then never looked at it again! I PROMISE!).

Okay. So got past that room... into the next one that was dark and had the dungeon map... into the next one with more Goriyas I pwned with sword beams from afar... into the NEXT one with more Goriyas... into the NEXT one with fireballs and extremely laggy Goriyas. (Wow. I still remember the whole layout of the dungeon. I went through these rooms SO many times. XD) Annnnd then...

...a dead end.

Dang. -.-

I tried using bombs on every corner of that room. Then, using my dungeon map, I tried using bombs in every possible way to go into rooms I hadn't been in yet.

OMG!!!! IT WASN'T WORKING!!! It. Was. Impossible. I tried EVERYTHING. I struggled to find the meaning of this, but... no...

Then Seth GoldenBlood came over. He has the first Zelda game (as well as AoL, OoT, WW, TP, MM, MC, and PH - none of which he's completed, except PH; srsly, why have so many games if you're not going to play them?) so I BEGGED him to help me. Unfortunately, this was the first time I discovered he never PLAYS any of his Zelda games, so he was only in the second dungeon and didn't know anything. O_o Worse - he owns the LoZ walkthrough guide book thing, apparently, and he didn't bring it!!! *sob*

I let him play through the dungeon for a bit, but nothing was working. He started going through the steps I did - use every item on a wall that probably should be bombable - and when he got to the Blue Candle, somehow I mentioned I'd bought mine in a shop. He says, "Really? Why didn't you just get it for free?"

Me: "...You can get it for FREE?"

"Yep."

So THEN we left the dungeon and he showed me where to get it. Near the first dungeon, there's an area that seems empty except for the Zola/Zora, but when he used his Blue Candle on a tree, it revealed a staircase!!! O: Inside was an old man giving you the choice of Heart Container or Potion. Hmm, let me think... HEART CONTAINER! DUH! THEN I thought, "OOH! Maybe I have enough Heart Containers for that epic sword in the graveyard!" So we went that way, and got that sword! Thus I must thank Seth profusely.

...But I still didn't get through the dungeon.

That's when Deku/Cloud/Noob comes in!

He was over at my house like he is every Wednesday (it used to be Tuesday, but now it's Wednesday) and I BEGGED him (like I begged Taryn the day before - but she didn't help AT ALL -.-) to help me with dungeon seven. He, of course, almost died. And remember? This was the EASY dungeon.

So I stole the controller from him and started walking through the rooms again. Then, in the room that the dungeon map used to be in, I said, "You know what? I randomly feel like using a bomb on that wall up there. I mean, it kinda looks like you should be able to bomb it, even though the map says there's nothing..."

BOOM!

"OMG!!!! A SECRET ROOM FILLED WITH RUPEES! THIS IS EPIC! 8D"

Yep. And I used another bomb on the left side of the room, and it worked there too. That's what gave me the idea of using bombs everywhere possible.

And use bombs I did. Most of them didn't work, of course... but when I bombed one certain area...

SECRET PASSAGE! YYYEEEESSSSS!

...So wait. My map was LYING TO ME? In the one game - ONE. GAME. - that I actually use a map... IT LIES! O:

*sob* WHY HAVE YOU BETRAYED ME! I'll never trust my map again...!

As for Deku, he was convinced it was his prescense that made me find it. I might as well agree with him. So thank you, Deku. :D

The rest of the dungeon was smooth sailing - I only had one brief problem with Wallmasters (gods, those things are frustrating) but then I found the boss... which really wasn't worthy of being a boss. I walked in the room, shot three swords beams, and it died. What kind of boss dies in three hits? Plus, I'd fought him already! Aquamentus was the FIRST boss! O_o

Oh well. ONWARD TO DUNGEON EIGHT! And the complete Triforce... and then Ganon... And then Adventure of Link! ...Hmm. Somehow I'm suddenly less excited. AoL sounds hard. XD

Whatever. At this point, I might not even FIND dungeon eight. Unlike with dungeon seven, where I had a clue ("Go to where the fairies don't live" or something) there's no convenient little hint at where dungeon eight might be. Plus, I'm still confused - is there another dungeon after it? For Ganon? Or is Ganon IN dungeon eight? Oh, but that wouldn't make sense... there'd be a Triforce piece there, and you'd think Ganon would steal that if he could... XD

Anyway... hope you enjoyed another gianormous post! They're longer every time...

Windlilly... out!

LoZ Update - Getting random swords without doing some big long sidequest or having an epic cutscene? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS GAME?

Item upgrades are a LOT easier to get in the first Zelda game.

...Not that I'm complaining, of course. But you know. Thought I'd point it out.

I now have a white tunic (what special powers it might give me, though, I'm not ENTIRELY sure), an upgraded sword (no clue what it's called, but suddenly old foes are easier), an upgraded shield (it doesn't look very different, but it blocks Zola fireballs now), and I FOUND another sword - just can't use it (stupid old man). Either I'm just lucky, or this is EASY.

White tunic - I was so confused at first. I just went in to this shop with the maximum rupees - speaking of which, is only 255! What the heck? Why'd they stop there? Is there ANY significance to that number or are they just like, "Oh, I like the number 255 - let's do that!" 99 makes sense... but 255? ...Okay, um, anyway, with 255 rupees, and the shopkeeper dude says "Boy, this is expensive!" And there's a Blue Ring in the center there for 250 rupees. I know that's what it's called because I somewhat paid attention when I left the title screen on and all the treasures possible in the game were revealed. So I'm like, "Okay... Idk what it does, but I'm gonna buy it! :D" So I did... and Link randomly changed into a white tunic.

At first I was freaking out, because I had NO clue what this meant... but then I noticed that suddenly, when the Leevers ran into me, it didn't steal any health right away! That's because my defense has been doubled! (I'm assuming, since no one tells you these things in this game. XD) SO HAH! TAKE THAT LEEVERS!!!!

THEN, in the second or third dungeon - which I probably should have mentioned I found at the beginning of this post, but whatev - an old man said something like, "Have you talked to the man at the top of the waterfall?" And I immediately remembered that as the cave Rowan took me to in our expeditions to find the first dungeon. I went there and got a new, epic sword! I THINK it doubled my attack, but then again, I have no idea. I ALSO went into the graveyard after paying this old woman to tell me how to get through the, as she called them, "Woods of Maze" (maybe that's a mistranslation though - I'm calling them Lost Woods XD), and when I pushed aside one of the graves, I found ANOTHER old man with a sword! O: ...But he wouldn't give it to me. *sob* Good news is that I kill Leevers - at least the red ones - in one hit now. Again: HAH! Plus, the Zolas aren't invincible anymore! If I hit them with sword beams or they're dumb enough to come close enough to land for me to slash at them, they die! DOUBLE HAH!

FINALLY, my last amazing upgrade, is... some shield that looks bigger. I bought it in the shop after saving up for a while. I was a little afraid, since I know I've made a mistake with buying identical shields to the current one in shops on other games- usually they're just there if a Like-Like or something takes them, and you end up wasting your money. But I took a chance and bought it, and apparently it's bigger. Now it blocks the Zolas' fireballs. HAHAH!

Yeah. I hate Zolas and Leevers.

They're more evil than Ganon, I swear...

Anyway.

I'm on Level 5! It's kinda hard, though... ugh. There's these soldier thingies that are REALLY hard to beat. I think they're Darknuts, but I'm not sure.... hmm...

*looks up on Zelda Wiki, the most amazing website ever created besides Wizard101 and Wizard101 Central*

OMG! I WAS RIGHT! THEY ARE DARKNUTS! It's amazing how I know all these Zelda enemies, even though I'd never played this game before! XD OOH! I'M GONNA GO LOOK UP THAT CENTAUR THING NOW!

*check*

LYNEL! It's called a LYNEL! I will remember that. What else don't I know? Goriyas? Ooh. So those things with the boomerangs WEREN'T Moblins. Vire? What is THAT? ...Oh! I remember seeing those in one of the dungeons. They were EXTREMELY annoying. They turn into Keese when you attack them...

Wait? No Zolas on the list? They're ZORAS? I'm going to call them Zolas instead, since I KNOW I saw it spelled that way somewhere. After all, 'r' and 'l' are almost the same thing in Japanese - so I've heard. "Zelda" in Japanese is "Zeruda," anyway. Thanks to my amazing Korean-speaking friend who knows a lot about foreign languages, she pronounced it for me and it DOES sound like Zelda... Ooh. And Link is Rinku, in case you were wondering. :P But you don't really pronounce the 'u' much, and the 'r' sounds like an 'l', remember? XD

...WHY AM I TALKING ABOUT JAPANESE? This isn't exactly explaining what happened in Level 5 with the Darknuts and all...

You know, I'm gonna give up this post for tonight. Enough off-topicness. XD I'm tired, and... I have a LOT of homework to do... dang...

Yeah, that's SO not getting done tonight.

'Night!

LoZ Update - OMGIjustboughtthefirstZeldagameandI'mtooexcitedtoputspacesinbetweenthesewordsandYAY!

...Read the post title. If it's decipherable.

Here we are - my eleventh Zelda game: the famous Legend of Zelda. Amazingly, although it's old, it's just as fun as all the others, if not BETTER. I'm REALLY enjoying the whole "run around Hyrule without a map or any clue what to do" thing. It gives me an excuse to do nothing...

But now I can't find the second dungeon - or ANY dungeon for that matter. I didn't even find the first - my sister did. Dang it. >.< She also found the fifth for us. I found the third while I was searching for the second, but that's pretty much it. When I finally saw a dungeon after looking for FOREVER, I was like, "OMG!!!! YES! DUNGEON!" And then I went in and see "Level 3". I was pretty upset. Like... let's throw the GameCube controller across the room and switch to Wii, then throw that too.

That's another nice part... Wii controllers work with this game, too. And our GameCube controllers are stupid - one has the little rubber covering over the control stick coming off and it ANNOYS me when I play, and the other has a tendency that when you press the control stick in one way, the game thinks you're pressing that indefinitely. It happened a lot in Brawl, Ocarina of Time, and Wind Waker. It's kind of funny - characters randomly start running to the side. And then one of our other controllers (the wireless ones) decides to not turn on sometimes. So we only have ONE working GC controller. XD So Wii controllers are MUCH better.

Now... I could write a detailed description in my normal way of writing posts... or I could do it in this somewhat fun idea that I came up with. Every time we died and started over, something interesting would happen...

And I've died twenty times, even though I'm only on level one. XD Srsly. The game counts.

Luckily, I don't remember all twenty times... so let's just write about the ones that might make you laugh, 'kay?

START

Me: YAYS! NEW ZELDA GAME! Okay, let's see... start here... ooh! I know this! I played it on the Brawl demo. I'm gonna - GO IN THE CAVE! Yeah! Sword... uh-huh... now what?

Rowan (my sis): Oh! I think I know! Remember that speed run we watched on YouTube? I think I remember where the guy went for the first dungeon.

Me: Really? Where?

Rowan: Let me show you...

Me: Um, no.... *We fight over controller for a while. Since technically it's my file and I'm the one who bought the game in the first place, I win.* Just tell me where to go.

Rowan: FINE. ...Um, up. I think. Now right... up...

Me: *gets hit on screen and gasps* WHOA! LEEVERS! I HATE LEEVERS!!!! *runs around trying to kill the stupid monsters... and then a Zola pops up and hits Link, killing him*

Rowan: ...Did you just die?

Me: ...Um... yeah... maybe. I officially hate Zolas.

DEATH TWO (or something like that)

*gets sword from old man in cave*

Rowan: Remember... up... right... up... AVOID THE LEEVERS!

Me: I'm TRYING! They're kind of HARD to avoid! They pop up out of NOWHERE! As if I didn't hate them on Twilight Princess in that stupid "fix the bridge for the Goron dude" sidequest... Or outside the Spirit Temple on Ocarina of Time... Or-

Rowan: You're a little scary sometimes when you talk about LoZ. Did you know that?

Me: Yes. Yes I did.

Rowan: Oh. Good.

*Link gets killed by ANOTHER LEEVER on screen*

DEATH THREE

Me: Are you sure we're going the right way? And HOW THE HECK DO I KILL THESE PEAHATS? OR THE ZOLAS? THEY'RE INVINCIBLE!!!

Rowan: Idk. But just ignore them. Umm... go up that way, and dodge the boulders.

Me: This game would be easier if there was a shield button.

Rowan: Um... you're holding a shield, aren't you? On the game?

Me: ...OMG. Link is. What the heck? Can't he use it?

*We go up a few screens until we reach a ton of Tektites*

Me: Wow! This is farther than we've gotten before! Now, let's kill the Tektites...

*waits*

Me: ...Um, why isn't my sword working?

Rowan: SIERRA!!!! YOU FORGOT TO GET THE SWORD FROM THE OLD MAN!!!!

Me: Oh. Shoot.

*dies*

DEATH FOUR

Me: Wow. I HAVE a sword this time, we're past the Tektites... now do we go up this ladder thing?

Rowan: Um... maybe...

Me: Okay. *enters an area with a cave on the other side* IS THAT THE DUNGEON?! I hope so. Wait... *sees this blue creature thing* Woah. What is THAT? Is it a Moblin? No... it doesn't look like one...

*tries to run up and hit it... it pwns Link. With half a heart left, tries to run around it... and it throws a sword at me. Link dies*

Me: ...I was THAT. CLOSE. And I died.

SINCE WHEN DO MONSTERS HAVE SWORD BEAMS??????

DEATH FIVE

Me: You know, it's REALLY annoying how my sword is on the A button. I keep pressing B. The sword is on B in EVERY game except this one. Even in Minish Cap, where you could unequip the sword, I couldn't STAND having it on A...

Rowan: No one cares, Sierra. Now go up the stairs again and look out for that blue Centaur thingy. ...NO! DON'T START HITTING IT!!!

Me: Why not? *gets down to half a heart again* DANG! *runs past it and into cave* YEEESSSS! WE MADE IT!!! ...Wait, what is this?

*enters room with old man in center and a sword in front of him.*

Old Man: You can have this when you master it.

Me: *glares at Rowan*

Rowan: Hehe... um... I guess this isn't a dungeon after all...

Me: *face-palm*

DEATH SIX

Me: Since we really don't have any other ideas on where to go, let's get back past that area with the boulders and go by the Tektites again, and then try that little path that led away from it to the side, all right?

Rowan: Sure, go ahead.

*does so - finds an empty area with four pathways leading off*

Me: Uh... where should we go?

Rowan: Just let ME have it. *she takes the controller and goes up over and over*

Me: ...Nothing's happening... OOH!

*magic Zelda puzzle-solved theme!*

Rowan: HAH! IT'S A DUNGEON! YES! *goes inside, reads top*

Me: ...Level five? Well, that's wonderful, Rowan, but we kinda need to start at level ONE.

Rowan: Oh... oops...

Interlude - Rowan's file! XD

Me: *just coming out of shower* ...WAIT! Where the heck are you?

Rowan: SIERRA! GUESS. WHAT. I FOUND THE FIRST DUNGEON!!!

Me: ...REALLY? Hey! But I want to do it!

Rowan: I know. That's why I made my own file. It's called Pwnage. :D

Me: THIS IS MY GAME! WHO GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO DO THIS? ...Oh, whatever. Give me a turn and-

*Rowan gets pwned by Wallmaster and taken back to start*

Rowan: NO!!!! I HAVE TO get back to that room now! PLEASE? Just a few more minutes?

Me: ...Fine.

*she gets back to room, and goes into next one by avoiding the Wallmasters*

Me: *looks up from reading fanfiction on DSi* ...IS THAT THE BOSS?

Rowan: Oh. Hey. I guess it is! Now, what do I do with this boss...?

Me: OH!!! I READ A FAN FICTION ABOUT THIS! (P.S. - It's called Voiceless if you wanted to look it up, lol. It's based on the first two games and it's pretty good. :D) The author said you can just stand in this one spot and shoot sword beams at the boss, and he can't hit you but you can hit him. It's supposed to be easy... except... your hearts aren't full. How can you get sword beams?

*she dies*

Me: HAH! MY TURN!

(And yet... she goes back for sword beams and pwns the boss.)

Rowan: TRIFORCE PIECE!!!! YAY!

Me: ...I hate you.

DEATH SEVEN

Me: Okay. BOSS TIME! Aquamentus... YEAH! ...That is the first boss's name, right?

Rowan: Don't ask me. You're the Zelda expert.

Me: Haha... right... *goes into boss room* ...Um, I just noticed something!

Rowan: What?

Me: ...I don't have sword beams.

Rowan: Then just go up and hit him with your sword or something...

*I try*

Me: ...IT'S NOT WORKING!!!! LOOK! *tries stabbing Aquamentus or whatever its name is with the sword - and NOTHING HAPPENS!* I'M STUCK IN HERE WITH AN INVINCIBLE BOSS! WHAT DO I DO? WHAT DO I DO? WHAT DO I- Oh, hey. Is that door open? *goes out the door I came IN through*

Rowan: LOL. What was the point of all that?

Me: Well, every OTHER Zelda game I played, the door LOCKS when you fight the boss! How was I supposed to know? *goes a few rooms back in the dungeon, and sees a door I did not enter* Hey, Rowan? What's in there?

Rowan: Oh, Idk... I didn't go in there. Can't be important if I already defeated the boss.

Me: Well, maybe I'll get some hearts for sword beams in there. *explores a bit, does a block puzzle, and then...*

Me: ROWAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FOUND THE BOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rowan: WHAT? ...Drat. Now I need to get that.

Me: OOH! I bet that's why you can't hit him with your sword! You're supposed to use this as a projectile! Hehe, I'm smart.

Rowan: Yeah, sure, whatever.

*I go to the equipment screen... except I can't figure out how to equip the bow*

Me: Um... HOW DO I GET TO THAT? LOOK! I'm pressing EVERY button! Z! X! Y! A! B! NOTHING WORKS! *switches to Wii controller, tries again* ...STILL NOT WORKING!

Rowan: Haha, well, I don't have the bow. Can't help you there!

(I'm running out of time, so I'll just summarize this next part. I failed epically, absolutely convinced there's something wrong with our game, even reading the instructions fifty times over... and then I realize maybe I can't use the bow because... I had no arrows?)

(Gods. Why is this so DIFFICULT for me?)

----

I'm going to stop it there. XD I went and beat the boss with sword beams, since I didn't have enough rupees to buy arrows. And now... I need the second dungeon, wherever it might be. As you can see, the majority of my deaths come from AFTER I beat the first dugeon, while I'm exploring the Leever and Zola infiltrated Hyrule. ...OMG. I want to kill all Zolas and Leevers in EXISTENCE! I HATE THEM! They're worse than the Wallmasters! Worse, I still haven't discovered a way to kill Zolas; I spent a full fifteen minutes shooting sword beams at one when it popped out of the water, and it wouldn't die. And the Leevers just seem to keep coming BACK.

...Well, whatever. Thanks for letting me write this super epic post! Good night, awesome readers!

Happy Birthday Legend of Zelda!

Hey, would you look at that? Two birthday posts in a row! Who knew Sydney's birthday was so near LoZ's? ;)

Yesterday - February 21st, 2011 - The Legend of Zelda had its 25th anniversary! EPIC! :D Isn't it weird how, here in the States, that was also President's Day? That's why when I saw it on Yahoo, I at first didn't believe it... but then I saw it on Zelda Wiki too, and two sources reporting that combined with the fact that I already knew LoZ would be turning 25 at some point this year made me believe it.

Lolz, what brought it to my attention was Yahoo, actually... When I went to check my e-mail yesterday, I went to the front page of the website as always. I occasionally look at the "Trending Now" box up there just to see if I recognize any of the stuff (usually I don't) and then I was like... "Whoa! Legend of Zelda is trending now! It's number six on the list!" So I clicked on it, and the first thing was a news post about its anniversary. Yep!

To celebrate its anniversary... well, I kinda want to post a chapter of my fanfic but I still hate the first chapter, lol. If I could skip that first chapter... then I'd be happy to post it! But otherwise... um, no. I just gotta figure out how to get Navi back into the story, since she's missing in Majora's Mask... and I want Link to have someone to talk to... either that, or I could just make Link silent like he is in the games, I guess. XD

SO, since I can't do that (technically I can, and if anyone comments and says they want to read it, I MIGHT... might... because I need feedback to make it better - I'm out of ideas) I decided on a better way.

Why not buy the game that started it all?

That's right: Legend of Zelda!

...Although my friend, Noob/Cloud/Deku thinks that would be Ocarina of Time. I was laughing so hard when he didn't know what the first Zelda game was. He listed off pretty much every game in the series - including Zelda II - and didn't get it... XD (Sorry, I shouldn't be making fun of him. He only has TP and ST.)

I keep getting off-topic. >.<

YES. I'm going to - or I WANT to - buy The Legend of Zelda. Idk if I can yet. If my sister doesn't stop playing Animal Crossing: City Folk, I can't get on the Wii Shop Channel to buy it. -.-

...Now that I think of it... can you only upload $10 or more at a time? That would be so stupid. LoZ is only $5. The rest of that money should go to Skyward Sword, not some other random game. I guess I'll buy AoL if I have to, but...

...Oh, another random fact about me? I've at least PLAYED every game in the series except Adventure of Link. XD I know virtually nothing about it beyond what I've seen on YouTube.

Well, that's it! 'Night people! :D

(Another random fact: OMG! I have no label for Legend of Zelda or Adventure of Link on this blog! There's every Zelda game except those two! That's sad. XD)
